1. Introduction

DARE. ("the App") is developed by Maxim Durand, an individual developer based in Melbourne, Australia. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use the DARE. application.

2. Data We Collect

Name: Entered during onboarding for personalization. Stored locally on your device only.
Contract text, session data, DARE Score, proof of work entries, 90-day letters: All stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. None of this data is transmitted to any server.
App selection for blocking: We use Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings APIs. Apple anonymizes app selection tokens — we never see which specific apps you choose to block.
Subscription status: Managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive anonymous transaction identifiers to verify subscription status. We never receive your payment details.

3. Data Storage

All personal data (contracts, scores, letters, session history) is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers or databases that store your personal information. If you delete the app, all local data is permanently deleted.

4. Third-Party Services

Apple (App Store, StoreKit, FamilyControls): Handles payments and app blocking. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat: Processes anonymous subscription data to manage entitlements. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. No personal data is shared with RevenueCat.
PostHog (planned): Anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. No personal identifiers collected. Not yet implemented.

5. Notifications

All notifications are local (scheduled on-device). We do not use push notification servers. No notification data is transmitted externally.

6. Children's Privacy

DARE. is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with information, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can delete all data by deleting the app. No account creation is required.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone. Ever.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
